Materials: Color By Numbers Turkey PDF, gray, light orange, yellow, maroon, brown, dark orange, black, green and red markers/crayons/colored pencils, pen/pencil
- Print the Color By Numbers Turkey PDF HERE
- Share that your child/student will be filling in the numbers on the grid and coloring in the rectangles to reveal a secret picture
- Provide the blank page
- Beginning in the top left corner and using the key page, read each number aloud from left to right and top to bottom for your child/student to record on their sheet
- Once every number has been recorded by your child/student, have them identify one number at a time in the key
- As they identify the number, have them also identify the initial letter (-g for gray or -r for red) and produce the letter sound (/g/ or /r/)
- Have your child/student determine which color they are supposed to use that matches the letter sound for each number, assisting as needed (i.e. “Are you going to use /g/ gray or /g/ red?”)
- Have your child/student pick out gray, light orange, yellow, maroon, brown, dark orange, black, green and red markers/crayons/colored pencils as they figure out the color words
- Have your child/student identify number 1
- Ask your child/student to point to each 1 they see on the page and color in that rectangle the appropriate color
- Repeat with each number and color until the picture is revealed
