Materials: Color By Numbers Turkey PDF, gray, light orange, yellow, maroon, brown, dark orange, black, green and red markers/crayons/colored pencils
- Print the Color By Numbers Turkey PDF HERE
- Provide your child with gray, light orange, yellow, maroon, brown, dark orange, black, green and red markers/crayons/colored pencils
- Share that they will be coloring in the rectangles on the black and white number page to reveal a secret picture
- Have your child identify number 1
- Produce the initial letter sound that matches the color word (i.e. for the number 1 make the /g/ sound for “gray”)
- Have your child determine which color they are supposed to use that matches the letter sound for the number 1 (i.e. “Are you going to use /g/ gray or /g/ red?”)
- Have your child pick out the appropriate color out of the pile (gray)
- Ask your child to point to each 1 they see on the page
- Use the matching color marker (gray) and outline each 1 rectangle they point to
- Have your child color in the rectangles that have been outlined in gray
- Repeat with each number and color until the picture is revealed
