Letter Stacking

Materials: 26 stacking cubes/duplo blocks, permanent marker

  • On each block, write one uppercase letter (A-Z) using a permanent marker
  • On the opposite side of the block, write the matching lowercase letter (a-z) using a permanent marker
  • Determine if your child will be focusing on uppercase or lowercase letters
  • Lay the blocks in front of your child
  • Have your child turn each block so that either all of the uppercase letters are facing up or all of the lowercase letters are facing up (depending on what they are practicing)
  • Begin with A or a and have your child stack the cubes in alphabetical order

*To assist your child, encourage them to sing the ABCs while they point to the letters in their stack to determine which letter comes next*
