Materials: tray or plate, shaving cream (Cool Whip can also be used if you are concerned about your child getting it in their mouth), food coloring, a mixing tool (straw/Popsicle stick/spoon, etc.), paper (photo or regular), paper towel, scissors, yarn/string, tape
- Spray the shaving cream on your tray or plate
- Smooth the shaving cream with your mixing tool
- Drop the food coloring onto the shaving cream *Children can do this independently while counting how many drops there are, dropping a specific number that is provided and identifying the colors
- Once the colors are in a design you like, lay your paper down on top of the shaving cream (*Note that photo paper works the best for this activity)
- Gently press the paper down on the shaving cream so that the color transfers and then peel the paper off *Children can do this independently
- Gently remove the shaving cream remaining on the paper (this can be done be using your mixing tool to scrape the majority of the shaving cream off and then using a paper towel to remove the remainder)
- For regular paper, allow time to dry. Photo paper will be ready to cut immediately
- Repeat steps 5-8 using as many pieces of paper as you like
- Trace or draw eggs on your paper *Children can trace the eggs independently
- Cut out the eggs *Children should cut on their own with supervision
- Cut your yarn or string to the desired length
- Tape the yarn/string to the back of your eggs
- Hang your garland
- Enjoy!
