Cotton Ball Painting for 1 Year Olds

Materials: cupcake tin, paint, cotton balls, clothespins, paper, tape (optional)

*I recommend having your child in only their diaper, wearing a smock or in clothes you don’t mind getting paint on*

  • Pinch a cotton ball at the end of each clothespin
  • Pour one color of paint in each cupcake tin
  • Place one clothespin in each paint tin
  • Tape (optional) or place the paper down in front of your child
  • Place the cupcake tin in front of your child
  • Model how to pick up the clothespin, dip it in paint and use it to paint on the paper
  • Allow your child to explore the materials and paint on their paper
  • Enjoy!
